Results attached and brief story below. We had 15 racers 2 dns.
The KS Adaptive Cycling Omnium kicked off with the 15k Kechi Time Trial. After the rain moved out the air was cool with a light tailwind pushing at racers backs as they pounded the brand new asaphalt on this fairly flat out and back course. Noticably missing some of the regulars, some newer racers hammered out some nice times. In the H3 class Indianna's Tom Davis led the field with a smokin' time of 25:27 with KACO regular Drew Wills from Colorado at 27:11 as his closest compeditor. Mike Wagner from Arkansas is another KACO regular and showed up with a whole new game from 2011 with a 29:46 taking the 3rd place spot. Dennis Clark after working out some adjustment issues with his new R, knocked out a 4th place finish with Michael Knapp one of the newer racers on the Chicago team taking 5th.
The H2 surprise came from Ken Bestine burning out a 27:47,and 3rd place over all, way faster than we have seen from him the several years he has done this TT. That CarbonBike and his focused training as done great things for the New Yorker. His next closest fellow H2, Matthew Robinson was almost a minute out at 28:31. Pulling in 3rd place finish was KACO new comer and part of the Chicago Team Adam Finney with a 30:25. John Tutorino, Jose Alzati, another Chicago team racer, and Wheelchair Sports Inc newest racer Danny Johnson rounded out the field. Danny has been riding 2 weeks and plans to complete the 3 events.
H1 was similar to years past. James Watson won his class with a time of 33:40 and 8th place over all finish. Wayne Romero pulled out the 2nd place spot with a slow start but finishing strong 40:27. No warm up kills this boy. Military Veteran Glen Fretz came in 3rd with local Dale Pauswang 4th.
The Road Race start is pushed out to 9am due to the unusually low temps.
