The 2010 Wichita Spring Omnium
Handcycle Races
May 29th & 30th

A Paralympic Sport Event
        Presented by Wheelchair Sports, Inc.
    In Partnership With SPECS Racing

Entry: $30 per race. $75 for Omnium (all 3 races) Scoring and Prize Money will be calculated as an Omnium based on cumulative points earned from each race. The Omnium will include **3 RACES**, which are the three races listed below.

SAG on RR. Wheel off/wheel on @ RR & Crit (please bring your spare). Snacks, drinks and water to cool down if needed. "QUADS" (and others with heat issues) SAG will have water to cool you down with at each race.

Race categories: We will be following 2010 US Handcycling Guidelines

Latham Road Race Sat 29th: The first event that kicks off two days of racing in the Greater Wichita Area. It is located outside of Wichita and is a 30-mile loop through rolling hill terrain at the base of the Flint Hills. Racer Dinner following.

Kechi Time Trial Sunday 8:45 AM, May 30th:  The TT is located just north of Wichita on Oliver St. in Kechi. It is a very flat North/South course. It starts at the entrance to the Kechi City Park, North on Oliver to a turnaround and finishes near the start. You must sign in prior to Time Trial at the Criterium course. 15k Flat & Fast.

Oak Park Criterium 11:50am May 30th: Located 1400 West 11th Street North, Wichita, Kansas.  The crit is flat and fast with some brick and is .8 mile a lap. Racer Omnium Awards Dinner following.   

General information
• A standard athlete waiver must be signed for each day.
• If there is a tie in points after all three events, the best placed in the Time Trial will be the tie breaker!
• Numbers to be pinned on side of jersey for all races(side TBD), one number for all races. No sleeveless jerseys.
• Race will be held rain, shine or wind. Promoter reserves the right to alter race, race time, combine categories and awards.
• All US Handcycling rules apply. Refer to www.ushandcycling.org

Results will be posted as soon as possible on www.wcsports.org and www.ushf.org
All racers will need to be members of US Handcycling. Individual memberships are just $10
Current USCF License is mandatory and must be presented at registration. One day
license are available for purchase ($10.00) at on site. All USHF Rules Apply! Approved ANSI/SNEL helmets are mandatory whenever a rider is on a moving bike. The race fee includes the insurance fee ($2.00) and KCA surcharge ($1.00).

Racer Hotel Scholarships available: Racers rooming single receive 1 night accommodations, 2 racers sharing receive 2 night accommodations(these rooms are awesome and huge with 2 king or 2 queen beds with room for your bikes). Offered to first 20 racers to requesting. Must be registered within 48 hrs of approval or registration opening. 

 

Woman Racer Scholarships available: Four in the mount of $75 each. Offered to the first four women to register(this does not exclude recipients from Hotel Scholarship). Must be registered within 48 hrs of approval or registration opening.
